Are you afraid of me?

Are you afraid of me?

Does my blackness intimidate you?

Do my thick lips and kinky hair send your

Mind into a fit of rage that so effortlessly

Controls you?

Do the curls in my hair and clothes that I

Wear and tear at your soul so ferociously that you

See the face of a criminal and your next victim?

The kings that you dethroned, and the queens that

you violated, the men and woman that you

Murdered did they intimate you

The strength of a black man and the power

Of a black woman, does it scare you

Does my strength from within and the glow of

 My melanated skin intimate you

Do the mysteries of my history and the souls of

My ancestors that lurk around the corners of

The homes of their former captors send you into

A fit of panic

He who holds the weapon of a thousand generations

She who holds the intelligence of an entire

Nation

Fought off millions, reproduced billions, and created the light of the world that we see so I Ask you again Are you Afraid of me?
