Are You Ever?

He trusted me…

To keep Him, Her, EVERYONE safe,
to be the HERO, stop the bad guys,
to do the RIGHT THING…
But I couldn’t…
Couldn’t save them ALL,
Couldn’t even save MYSELF.
I should have known,
I wasn’t strong ENOUGH,
I wasn’t READY.
For the Responsibility,
For the WEIGHT of the World on my SHOULDERS.
For the end of my Childhood,
For the END of the WORLD,
My World, at least.
I let him Down,
I let them ALL Down.
And I BROKE.
I Sobbed, I Bled,
I DIED…
No Matter how ready you think you are,
Are you Really…, Are you Ever?
