Arisen

Once upon a time there was a girl with a dream,

a dream that she certainly never thought that she'd see.

She laid staring up at the stars in the night,

wishing and wishing she'd get through her fight.

She wrestled inside with those thoughts in her head;

"Go back to bed, you're better off dead."

They taunted and teased her day after day

Then one day she she heard a deep voice say

"Do not fret my sweet little child,

It'll all get better if you trust me awhile"

The girl cried and she cried,

who was this man?

And how could he tell her that he had a plan?

She wanted to listen to the bad voices in her head

but it turns out God had a different plan instead.

He taught her love, hope and compassion

all in an unseen form of fashion.

The girl began to smile; she didn't look the same

the black cloud above her ceased to rain.

She shone like a light, brighter than the son,

with her newfound faith in the holy one.

There was no boy, no fancy dress

there was no wolf nor prodding press,

The girl had found something much greater

The love of her God, Lord and Savior.
