Armageddon

Armageddon

Words are all around us,

A million different stories,

A couple of billion different people,

All a glance, a touch, a word away.

But we never stop,

We never stop to see,

We never stop to hear,

We never stop.

There’s an infinite # of words,

An infinite # of expressions,

And each and every one of us is guilty,

We are guilty of never saying a word.

We are a people of silence,

Yet our minds are racing away,

With all the words out there,

We are slowly fading away.

When we stop hearing our minds,

And we stop feeling our hearts,

 We will die, die, die,

And we shall all be forgotten.

Billions of combinations,

And yet we seem to know none.

All of our artificial intelligence,

And we can’t even say Hello.

What are we doing?

Always rushing around,

We keep running forward,

But all we are doing is tumbling back

How can we survive

the onslaught of our own attacks?

We are ripping apart our own foundations,

Blindly coming undone.

We are a people of unmatched intelligence.

All these inventions, intentions, and inspirations,

And yet words escape us.

If only we could open our eyes or our minds.

They are losing their meaning,

Losing their power,

Slowing fading,

Into the recesses of our minds.

All this progression,

And nothing to show for it.

We keep moving forward,

Blindly misstepping.

Words are all around us,

They haven’t yet failed us.

We are the ones failing,

We keep forgetting our greatest gift.

The power to speak,

The power to write,

The power to listen,

they once belonged to us, a people of wisdom.

Where did they all go?

Are they lost forever?

Can we truly reclaim,

What has always been ours?

Our voices are gone,

They don’t play the same rhythm,

We rely on a screen and a button,

To create human connections when there are no affections.

The most intelligent species,

Is slowly fading.

We are sinking into a pit of our own creation,

What will save us?

If only we saw what was truly divine,

No room for improvement,

It is simply an inclusion,

Of our most basic installment.

No updates,

No replays,

No next generations,

There are only words and their basic derivation.

No constant improvement,

No endless debate,

Words are our salvation,

Our key to freedom.

If only people could see,

What a different world it would be,

If people stopped,

If perhaps someone would use one of the infinite combinations.

Words are all around us,

A million different stories,

A couple of billion different people,

Perhaps one day we might care to say.

Our downfall is upon us,

The twilight is near,

Can we make it in time,

To see the dawn rise?

The key is in words,

The infinite #,

The realization of our failures,

The rush to reverse them.

One would ask if survival is possible,

And another would answer,

That with an infinite # of chances,

There is always room for an answer.
