Armor
Arms open lovingly to a harsh world are met with bitter infliction. In those moments, tears push against veiled eyes, demanding for liberation and attention. All the while, a brain fights tirelessly to maintain balance and peace. It asks why it's internal contentment once again was stampeded by external battalions. Why should I be overrun by something beyond it's personal control? A heavy heart sighs and retreat into fear. I fill my notebooks with ink in preparation. For I know the fear will return again. In that return, the body will reset and arms will once again open to the dark air. Fully aware of the consequences, but in denial of their return. And when the denial is overcome, vulnerable arms still stretch out, but this time, they know. The attack will make them stronger. Their defeat will make them wiser. Their resilience makes a victor.
