Armor
To you,
You cannot tell me that I did not try,
and you cannot tell me that I did not love you enough or
I should have tried harder.
I write this to you to let you know I stand taller,
and so much stronger.
I want you to know the induced panic attacks you put me through,
that beat my heart black and blue gave me armor.
I do not want an aplogy. I have already forgiven you.
Please do not forget the amount of tears you gave me gliding down my cheeks
could have drowned me in the hole you left me in.
Rather than sinking to the bottom I rose to the top.
I want you to know even after I left I still cried. The thought of abuse was the only love
I could ever get kept me down.
I need you to know I found someone better. I know this because he doesnt tell me
to try harder.
He doesnt push me down he brings me up farther.
What you tore down inside of me he has taken with his bare hands and rebuilt.
Piece by piece he as re asemebled my armor.
