Arrows

I wonder if you think with good thoughts in your mind and hope in your heart,
Because I see this beautiful man with a beautiful heart in front of me that I call friend,
He sold his soul to his demons just to be alive,
He was granted his heart by a goddess of fright, she determined his pain when she wrote my name,
Somewhere in his heart he knew this wouldn't last,
He made himself hope despite having no laughs,
I wish you could see like I have.
From afar.
You don't how your pain unless you're sad again,
I remember when you would be,
There was once when I saw your photo,
It blotted out my sun,
Three hundred men compared to your three thousand and one,
Your smile were arrows soaring through the sky,
My fake happiness was that very same sky and you..
YOU saw right through me,
Maybe you still knew me,
I wish that I could show you my mind,
So you know what happened that night,
After all you're supposed to go to prom with your very best friend,
In the end I know that I won't even dream of what you and me had found so effortlessly,
For it to happen in a situation like mine now...
Not happening,
No way,
No how,
Because that isn't a thing I want to take away from the ghost of us,
I don't remember what it's like to trust so deeply into a person without the pressure of disturbance wracking my brain and destroying your every word to me with a nonexistent faithlessness,
Maybe I'm a hopeless romantic.
Maybe I see its still there when you look at me.
