art

i am not your piece of art

your terrible finger-painted work of crap

plastered on your fridge for your everyday viewing

i am not a piece of art for the whole world to see

to be displayed in a museum

surrounded by thousands of pieces just like me

i am not your art project,

your sketch,

your painting,

your oil pastel drawing,

i am mine.

i am my own piece of art,

your critic eyes and mouth can't penetrate my thick painted canvas

i am my own piece of art work to fix

create

destroy

and rebuild.

you were not my painter

my vincent van gogh

my leonardo de vinci

my pablo picasso

i am art, but i have never been yours.
