The Art of Losing It All
Sacrifice hurts so much,
And my doubt is now a crutch,
Holding me back,
I'm failing fast,
Can this really last?
I know the world is watching every time I fall,
They want to learn the art of losing it all.
Why does the scars of the past never seem to fade,
Will there ever come a day where I may feel okay?
The sins are all counted yet God still forgave,
There has to be a reason for a monster like me to be saved.
Or maybe I am blind to the vultures circling around,
I said I'd never bow while I am chained onto the ground.
I scream and scream yet no one in this world hears a sound,
I watch my fear and my doubt beginning to surround.
In the midst of pain I tried to stand tall,
This is the art of losing it all.
The past creeps back so slow,
And I just want to let this world know,
Falling apart,
I'm looking for my heart,
Can I really be able to restart?
I know that the peace comes right before the fall,
Maybe that is how I learned the art of losing it all.
When will I find someone who hold me high,
Instead of building my life out of lies?
I honestly don't even see my crime,
Yet still the judge comes and I am tried.
So now I think that I am too sinful to have You,
There's no way You can still stand after all we've been through.
You helped me through these lies and I found the truth,
And this is glorify the Man who paid my dues.
The darkness comes and I begin to crawl,
But I don't have to die because You showed me the art of giving it all.
Sacrifice saves people like me,
The ones who find it so difficult to believe,
Losing faith,
I know I have grace,
Can You bring me to Your embrace?
I understand that it hurts when we fall,
But we God practiced the art of giving it all.
And we are saved.
