Art is Me
Tick tick tick tock,
Another day, another time that life passes,
I sit and wait as I watch the clock;
Tap tap tap tap goes my pen,
I stare at the blank and empty page,
An idea that will soon put its emptiness to end;
I skim my fingers across my book,
I skim the pages of past ideas,
A new idea will come if I take a look;
The colors blur with each other,
I need something new to add,
Something I need to add with the others;
This is my time, my time to draw,
I love to create new things,
Or sometimes things I saw;
My escape of reality,
A place to feel the colors,
A place where I can be me;
My ideas flow down my arm,
I feel them flow from my pen,
Out into the paper with artistic charm;
I see the event take before me,
The laughs, the battles, the moments,
I draw only what I can see;
Scritch scratch goes my pencil and pen,
My paint brush swishes across,
The lines and colors appear with no end;
I greet my characters with a smile,
I give them names and a place to stay,
I give them a home that seems to go on for miles;
I blend with my art,
I feel at home, at peace,
I can feel it in my heart;
The paper is my skin,
Ready to have a story,
A story that maybe I can be in;
Ink flows through my veins,
My characters pulsing with life,
I give them freedom, not tied down in chains;
The colors stain my soul,
To give life to these pages,
That is my goal;
I can paint music, I can paint happiness,
I capture what my heart makes,
My life is this;
I can feel myself begin to change,
I blend into the crowd,
I know that can sound a bit strange;
I really cannot help it,
It is what I do,
I don’t bored, not one bit;
I dance with my ideas in my head,
I never realize what the time was,
It is time to go to bed;
I take one last look,
It is time for me to rest,
It is time to close the sketch book;
Art is me, a part of me,
The blank pages is home,
My sketch book is where I should be.
