To live through the eyes of someone color blind
To walk those steps where the superior closes the blinds

To be shut out and ignored
To be forgotten and bored

A life without color creates a world of black and white
Think hard, with all your might

Look around and feel the sounds as the world we know turns around
Schools divided between the groups
Doors, fountains, and stair cases alike. Feel as these signs drown
Out all open minded thoughts and make you think in loops.

Hatred and frustration flood your veins
As the level of ignorance you contain amplifies in your brains

Public speakings and marches combine
Inferiority is attempted to be confined

Restricted and whipped into place
Tree branches begin to hang low from the weight
Night becomes day as our education drifts away happiness is replaced
With this serious look of dismay

Abolition movements and black top hats
Sharecroppers and landlords

Nothings changed, history repeats itself but this is a continuation
Working on hands and knees, searching for food with empty bellies
New laws to repress, Wasn't this a reconstruction? What exactly was the destruction?
The roots set in place were set deep, our foundation is not cracked so why try to leap?
