Art of Silence
How dumb he was to wipe red blood out of his eye.
Those cherry lips, as beautiful as falling stars across the sky.
For last few months, he couldn’t breathe but still, he tried.
He felt her breath, her eyes, as beautiful as a morning sunrise.
Was he exhausted from this pain?
He thought his heart was broken, yet he chose to stay.
He even tried that noble art —
And that was not the only part he did to be her beautiful “sweetheart”.
Why couldn’t he? He couldn’t live, or laugh, or cry.
Why couldn’t he just say goodbye?
She was inside his heart and mind,
She was around him in the dark of night.
He felt her breath, her eyes, as beautiful as a morning sunrise.
He felt the pain within her art,
In those last words: “Goodbye, sweetheart.”
He couldn’t love that beautiful blue sky.
He couldn’t smile when seeing those bright smiles.
He only found himself in grey, dark nights,
still thinking why he couldn’t just say “goodbye.”
