Artemis

Patroness of night

Cast down now your light

Upon your huntresses who walk in fright

Of lurking beasts in shadows

On street sides they stand alone

Brandishing their keys and phone

Their only weapon, their David’s stone

Against the hidden giants

The concrete jungle where anyone

Can grab your nymphs by hand or bun

Help soon before their deed is done

Cock now your golden arrow

Oh goddess, please don’t forsake me

You’ve seen this story repeatedly

Let not your girls, all so carefree

Live on in fear and torment

“Your world has changed, and this I know

The laws of man from long ago

Are different, so I send below

Instead a helping hand

In place of wrath, but just as swift

I walk among you as my gift

No matter where you all may drift

Invoke me in this prayer

And though it seems I won’t appear

I live within intent sincere

I’m with you and will interfere

Through warnings from your sisters

With these words go seek and aim

To save my girls from other’s shame

You all are family through my name

So help watch for each other.”
