Articulation

Something beautiful Is now at stake Like a blooming rose In an earthquake All the potential Of someone dear Someone musical The future, they fear We don’t know about you But love has a sound And that’s not what I’m hearing right now That’s just fine Cut our life lines Cut our educations down Like a tree In the dark Like the rose inside my heart Give us light Give me sound We’re an illumination In your dark room of decision Where you make your limitations Something’s telling me That they will take All the beauty of The forest and the lakes Our life source Is in their hands With their canvas gloves And their pick axe We don’t know about you But art is our home And that’s where the saws have been thrown That’s all right Cut our dreams Give us our limitations now Like the seed Never planted Like their motivations slanted Give us light Give me sound Not this intimidation In your dark room of decision Where there’s no articulation Destiny in darkness Destiny in light Destiny in moonshine or Destiny in sunlight To see the leaves So fresh and green The blooming flowers surround you Where it all starts Where it begins Where chances are taken I don’t know about you But I wanna live without this mess
