Artificial Light
Can you see the pale glow deeming? The flicker of light vanishing then reappearing from no where.
A source of fake energy balled up into a trinket of glass, hanging from just above you. Yes, I know that feeling. The comfort of knowing that you'll be safe and sound thanks to the light swaying above your head.
Well, you are mistaken. You see, that is not something to relax under. It could go out-any minute. Time passes on and you begin to wonder...what if it does?
Your breathing quickens and you hold yourself close. Gazing up ever so tentatively just to find your only bright way from the darkness, dimming, fading away into nothing. There is no where else to go after this.
The agonizing sense of your weakening comfort. Go out. Go out. Go out. Voices whisper, trying to pry your sanity. Then there is nothing.
Darkness falls light drifting snow. You begin to feel your body shake uncontrollably. Your eyes blinking with a swift pace.Sweat slapping on your skin.
Darkness.
It hones the soul fears of what you try to keep away. You suddenly feel...sleepy. Closing your tired eyes you fall into a deep slumber. Succumbed by the soothing voices and cold, gripping walls.
Yes, the light in which you were seeking for so long as a way out has died.
