An Artist

I met an artist

Who loved to draw

Anything in mind

From dogs and cats to

Still life gardenias or roses

Or even patterns

Everybody loved

That artist who drew those

Drawings of still life

But No one knew how,

Or quite why this artist was

Perfect at this job

Maybe it Was the way

That he lived a life hidden

In an artist’s hut

Or maybe it was

His father’s father

That told him long ago

“Don’t stress the future

Don’t worry ‘bout the past

Keep your eyes on now.”
