Ashes

Fri, 05/27/2016 - 17:34 -- Calico

Soft kisses under darkness’ veil

Velvet petal bouquets

A dark, ashen color

A quandry

Of the vast universe

Is there love

Beyond that which we once knew?

Rest for the idle?

Skull’s cradle

To all, once familiar

Now, nothing. Vague shadow of a ghost

Indecency strewn in its path

Bitter tastes

Pallets full of nettles

Passage to love

Through the vast field

Stinging and writhing

In the name of persistence

In the name of sacrifice

Of one

Ease pains

Entice brains

Benefiting only solace

Disruptive to the chaotic mind

Quieting to the melodic

And none so tickling as to the narrow minded

Beyond the thicket

We all know

Is sorrow

Feel

That there is nothing to do

But keel

Disintegrate

Back to the soil

Whence came
