Ashes

Burning

Turning

The ashes

Slashes

Across my brain

I’m called insane

The fires burn up there

The ashes fall down here

They cover

the land, we discover

Them as they fall

Piles too tall

To climb to freedom

We proceed them

But they must stem

From the sky

Is that where we will go when we die?

Will we fly

Like our ashes?
