Ashes and dust
The world will crumble like iron and rust
The darkness will fall like a deadly veil
The war is over humanity failed
The last cries of life are silently heard
The final man utters his final words
The nuclear power glows like the sun
The final man asks, "what have we done?"
The fires burn and the oceans rise
The moon watches as it's neighbor dies
The land is silent the night approaches
No one survived not even the roaches
The planet is scarred with an ugly stain
The end is here and all that remains
Blows in the wind and sits on earth's crust

I'm a Grad student now studying Biochemistry and Biophysics (not sure how I got there). I guess I've been using this site for nearly 8 years now though sometimes I went years without writing much of anything. I write what I feel and I write what I need to let go of. Sometimes I write about a dream or a nightmare I had, If I can tell the difference. I fell in love for poetry in high school and continued to write in college.
