When today might be your last

And anything could go

When life goes by so fast

And you want to take it slow

When yesterday was bad

And you wish you could go back

When you knew not what you had

Now you know just what you lack

When tomorrow might not come

And it's all taken for granted

When nothing becomes some

And suddenly you feel enchanted

When "hate" is such a strong word

And "love" is thrown around

When feelings go unheard

And lies have been unwound

When regret sets in so deep

And the truth you wish was told

When it always makes you weep

And the tears are getting old

When you think you'll never smile

And your best friend comes along

When they make it all worthwhile

And you realize that you're strong

When so much breaks you down

And so little picks you up

When black turns into brown

And half empty is the cup

When the bright side's hard to see

And you feel you're two feet tall

When your mind wants you to flee

And your body wants to fall

When you think you won't be caught

And you close your eyes in fear

When you don't give it a thought

And the end feels oh so near

When life flashes through your eyes

And you see all that which you missed

When you're expecting your demise

And still you must persist

When without you I am broken

And life gets hard to do

When you move on up to heaven

Ask if you can bring me too.
