Ask Alice

Ask Alice

i’m floating on my Own Personal dream,

I get there by falling down the rabbit hole.

stumbling only to be Uplifted by the thought of My wonderland.

i go eagerly never once considering how i’ll get away from these choices,

it gets curioser and curioser as we go.

the queen Sits playing cards, dispensing House Rules of no consequence.

On the table beside her lays my escape,

my Own form of self-Medication.

“eat me, drink me” they whisper.

there is no other choice.

it doesn't matter which way i go.

i’m only trying to achieve one end…

oblivion.

good-meaners appear temporarily trying to save me from myself,

i try to take it…but always end up more lost.

these friends,

a giggling man that begs me to sit a minute,

a gaunt  man with a wide smile.

the old hat, with vodka in his teacup,

gesturing at creatures that aren’t there.

The gaunt man fades into the backround,

the biggest thing about him his smile.

watching me make mistakes and offering the wrong advice.

sadly i realize this is the life i choose,

i can’t go back, i was a different person then.

we’re all mad here.
