Ask Me
Often I feel that
I am fathoms deeper
Then what people see,
That though thousands
Of eyes may gaze upon me
Not one of them
Has ever captured
My essence.
Everyone has secrets
Of course they do,
Things the public need
Not know.
But some secrets
Are just screaming,
Begging,
Pleading,
To be discovered,
To be accepted,
To be loved,
Just as much as
The rest of me.
I know that I
Have parts of my life
That I have chosen
To keep hidden.
For my sanctity,
For my family,
Because it is okay
To be different,
But only in acceptable ways.
I am sure some of you
Feel I am rambling,
That I am just
Speaking
To fend off
The silence.
In a way I am,
But don’t think
For one second
That means I am
InSincere.
Whenever I speak like this
It is from my heart.
This is a feeling
That I have felt
For such a long time,
And I am just hoping
I am
Not
Alone.
To be alone in this
Is to
Accept what I am feeling,
To accept
That there are parts of my life
That no one will
Ever want to know.
I have to live
In hope
That someday
I will find
Someone who not only
Wants to know my whole
Story,
But wants to be apart of it too.
Someone who knows
How I think
And moves with me
And is never afraid
To ask
Are you okay?
Someone to whom
I can simply say,
No
