Ask me who I am
Ask me who I am
And if the right person ask, I would say I'm no one special. But just an individual, a simple human being. I would confess to fearing when reality becomes to much to bare. I would confess to fearing all my loved ones won't be there. I would tell you how I belong to no one. How Denise died and Chakoiya Riley exist. I would let you listen closely to my dreams of leaving blazing footprints on this earth, making a change, any change. Dedicating my life to being a long term nurse. I would shout my deep secrets and reasons for tear stained cheeks. As long as you prove your strong enough. I refuse to trust anyone that's weak. I would educate you on my African American ancestors, and how I once was careless to anyone's culture that didn't apply to me. Now I know that color doesn't matter when our different journeys all share a part of history. Pay close attention and as careless as I seem, you'll notice that I have a passion to help anyone who was hurt due to the struggles that their life seem to bring.
Ask me who I am
And if the right person ask, I'll say I'm just like you. We both laugh over silly things and my tears fall when I'm hurt or misused. We could sit quietly listening to each others mistakes, but I will never regret a thing. I love each step of my life, the different paths, and all the happiness it brings. We could share our experiences and the new ones to began. New school, careers, new challenges as our childhood ends. We could remember each other and all the memories that we shared. All that we been through, and all of the times we didn't have no one but each other there. We may fight over different opinions, but we'll both die over family and what we believe in. Pay close attention and you'll notice ...
I'm no one special. A lost soul. A young teen just like you
