asked how i slept

grace gave me a hug

and asked how i slept.

grace gave me another hug

and said to text if i needed anything

or if i wanted to hang out.

i told her i would be going home that day

so we couldn't hang out like she had suggested yesterday

after we had exited the zip car

and she had finished telling me for the third time

how she wanted to get to know me more.

grace gave me a final hug and told me goodbye.

but it wasn't

because i saw her right after

as we were paying in line.

she made a joke about last night -

a joke i'd wanted to make but wasn't awake enough to follow through with.
