Asleep
We all all living our lives while asleep,
We let go of the things we need the most.
Living in denial,
Saying that we aren't in comatose.
I don't know why we can't just wake up,
And see that this world is so messed up.
What we need the most is hope,
Hopefully we can make it through this.
Because they say seeing is believing but that doesn't work when you're blind,
So maybe you would find faith if you just opened your eyes,
And then maybe you'll come to realize,
That you were created to do more than just survive.
When tragedy comes we can either come undone or come alive,
Yet God created us so that we can thrive.
So please see that you're Savior is here,
You weren't made for doubts or created for fear.
So forget the things that used to drag you into the abyss,
You were created for so much more for this.
Let's turn this breakdown into a breakout,
These ruins into lighthouses,
And this fire into a light for all to see.
I know that the hardest thing to do is admit that you're going the wrong way,
Because the future seems dark when you're still in yesterday.
No one thinks that you can ever do this,
But you'll never know if you don't find an ounce of faith.
So throw away the things that used to hold you back,
You are so much better than that.
