Because of our religion 

We are seen as terrorists

People assume that our motive is to harm others

We are ridiculed because of our hijabs

Our kids are mocked at school by other children 

Who make jokes about them having 

Bombs and weapons in their backpacks 

Because we have melanin

We are seen as gangsters and thugs

We are forced to teach our kids

How to deal with Five-O at tender ages

People assume that all Black people 

Reside in inner cities

Get drunk get high smoke weed

We are given the label crackheads and crack fiends

People assume all Black folks 

Come from broken homes

Because we are Caucasian 

People assume that we are rich and have an easy life

Our kids are ridiculed at school

For being “proper” “uptight” or “boujee”

We are envied because people fail to understand 

That we have to struggle to get where we are

We are seen as “racist”

All white police officers are assumed

To be out for minorities
