Astronomy

You seem so far, out of sight but never out of mind.

I used to hear you laugh

and feel the warmth of your smile.

I used to feel the love radiate off of you.

But now you float through space

kissing the sun and breathing in the moon

through my telescope I hope to see you riding on a shooting star

or even writing my name in the cosmos.

I wonder if you're lonely but in reality

It is me who's lonely

Do you miss the feeling of the sand between your toes?

or my hand in your hair?

Do you miss seeing the sunrise everymorning and loving who we were?

I find myself wonderig about you before I realize that I

am the one floating through space

missing how it was before, on the ground, close to you.
