Athena & Poseidon

The Leader who shows love is the one we admire, but do not see. The Leader who shows power is the one we despise, but always see.

An Athena is the hero we admire but do not see. Posiedon is the hero we fear but always see.

In mythology, the city of Athens chose athena because they saw her kindness and warmth when she sprung up a beautiful olive tree from the concrete to symbolize the peace and serenity that would be blessed upon the land. Poseidon, the god of the sea, chose to show his power and not his heart; he sprung up a salt spring so great and strong for all to be in awe.

This is not what the people of Athens needed.

Today we have chosen a Poseidon who shows his power; he flaunts his salt water sprung,

but forgets to water the olive trees that we Athenians so desperately need.
