Athena's Gift

Goddess of wisdom and battle

And god of the sea and storms

Seek to win over the people

With a gift from the heavens

From his golden trident

Poseidon gave a salt spring

And the people marveled

At the gushing water

Athena laughed at the sight

And procured her own gift,

Resembling a writing slab

But shiny and smooth

At her touch, it lit.

Images raced onto the screen.

The people were captivated

And declared a winner

Athena was their patron,

For what did a salt spring stand

To the wonderous glory

Of a cell phone?
