attached to you

I feel so unbreakably attached to you

like god is to fear

like sun is to sky

like needles are to the pines

as winter bears its teeth onto the forest

like fire is to flame

like thin air is to mountain peaks

like mist is to the lake

as dawn breaks on cold fall mornings

like phantoms are to fantasy

like fate is to future

like muddy threads are to march mornings

as frost thaws in the warm sun

I am so unbreakably attached to you

like pulse is to breath

like breath is to life

like you are to me
