Attack or Acident

The witness stares

The pain is there

The car the hit the death

The never ending regret

Hours pass everyone has heard

The news is proclaimed the audience disturbed

A joyous occasion turned into terror

The smiling faces turned ever grayer

The death tolls grow in hospital beds

On the streets others dead

I the witness hear there cries

My life went on to their good bye

I wonder why I lived and not they

I wonder if reversed what they would say

Yet to that I'll never know

For those souls have joined home

Yet I exist and for what to say

That I witness a tortured played

A tragic accident or attack

The memory my mind racks

Yet I have to let it go of the strangers killed

The lives that stilled

So I tell my story

The vague and unworthy

The witness of a stranger's death

The witness of a not forgotten last breath.

That was sad to see

That of tragedy
