You and i

we were a turmoil of events

a morbid combination

opposites on a color wheel

but there was something that drew us to each other

from time and time again

maybe it was the graciousness of my composure

maybe it was your difference in nature

you were the single rose in my life

something that reminded me of beauty and the beast

i was the soft spoken girl

wrapped up in books of fairytales and prince charmings

but prince charming was never real

and neither were you.
