The Authentic Me

Step aside and let me shine

Let the authentic me tweet, send, and re-vine

That way, I am liberated

Independent and powerful

I am intelligence

I am hospitable

I am care-free

I am happpy

I am the authentic me

Here is a raw, fresh image of me

Filled with true beauty

A clearer view of my genuine features

No illusions

You see?

Olive skin, brown eyes, black hair

Sharp nose, full lips, high cheekbones

Who's that you say?

That's me, the authentic me

Now I can speak

No slang, no twists, no tweaks

For I am, the authentic me

No social pressure

No cyber pressure

No worries to achieve perfection

Because you're gone

And I am here

The authentic me

Here is poem of the protagonist standing up to social media to prove who they are without a phone, a computer, an iPad, etc.
