Autumn Saddness

They fell, so saddened now,
Slowly drifting down.
She watched them as they lay,
Crumpled on the ground.
She didn't know what to say,
When orange, red, and yellow fell.
She watched them as they dropped,
Year by year, day by day.
Until the time when she laid still,
Crumpled on the ground.
