Autumn Times

Kara Buffa

Autumn Times

The hushed, blissful walks and the brisk haze in the evening,

The large turkey and the hearty soups that we make,

The long days and the worn-out flip-flops start leaving,

The sprinkles and frosting for the cookies we bake,

The freckled sky at night and the golden light in the morning,

The ending of summer and the beginning of learning.

The lovely, fresh breeze and a cozy, wool sweater,

The entertainment of apple picking and marshmallow roasting,

The sharp, crisp air and the pleasurable, chilly weather,

The carving of pumpkins and colorful leaves approaching,

The delectable, dark tea and the tune of a wind chime,

The wonderful events of autumn time.
