1 John 3:21-22                       New English Translation

21 Dear friends, if our conscience does not condemn us, we have confidence in the presence of God, 22 and whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing to him.

All truth is available to them that are in Christ Jesus

Where the truth appears in fullness the bad will fade away

Excuses wither quickly as Holiness quietly progresses

For the blood of my Savior washes all filth every day

The first part of this verse is very often quoted

The latter part, however, is easily ignored

Maybe all in all the asking we do is far amiss

For our desires are asking always for more

James 4:3                   New English Translation

3 you ask and do not receive because you ask wrongly, so you can spend it on your passions.
