The Avatar

The Avatar, master of all four elements: Earth, Water, Fire, and Air.
I once dreamt to have the power to control the uncontrollable.
I once dreamt I could be The Avatar.
I've been put through many trials and tribulations
I've had many obstacles to stand before me.
There stand the biggest obstacle of them all...incarcerated parents.

During a season of my life, I lived without a permanent home or guardian.
Though my surroundings were uncertain, I had hope.
My brother, whom I watched and protected gave me hope.

It was then, that I knew I had to put someone else first.
At a young age I became the parent.
Sworn to keep safe and nurture under any circumstances.

I know now that the unconditional love of a parent is extraordinary.
I know not to depend on materialistic things.
I know to depend on nature and nurture.
I know now that I am the Avatar I sought to be.
