The Average School Day

I grudgingly wake up every morning at 6

I brush my teeth and check the score of the Knicks

I go downstairs and eat breakfast

My sister spills the milk again, she’s so reckless

I rush and get on the bus real quick

While I think about Batman and Ben Affleck

I wonder if I will learn anything of use today

My mind wanders, and all I can think of is May

Right away, I am off to first period math

I know this won’t be my career path

Next it is off to be in engineering

Teacher asks a question, I won’t be volunteering

Then, I am on my way to Spanish

Hopefully, all my patience won’t vanish

The clock rolls along to lunch time

I daydream about home in the meantime

Afterwards, I slump into U.S. history

Why I’m even here is still a mystery

I climb up the steps to english to write a paper

By this time, my attention has really tapered

Then, I’m off to Chem for a lab

No thanks, I rather pick my scab

Lastly, I am in biology enduring another lecture

I zone out and stare at the ceiling’s texture

The bell rings and it’s time to leave school

Staying this long was just to cruel
