Aw, Man, You Know...

Those dirty hippies
always reeking of sex
and the well-grown Earth

Those damn hippies
with their patchouli
and their amulets

Guitars slung over shoulders
hand-rolled cigarettes
flowers in their hair
feet bare

Don't you loathe them?
How they prance and sing?
Goddamn their
intergalactic smiles
open-ended questions
anti-climactic statements.

Liberal-minded behemoths
strutting proudly o'er the lawns
of their liberal-minded schools

No one pays attention
No one pays them mind.
