Awake

I lie awake.

The whirring fan-

A broken heart

Caused by my own hand.

Awake.

A train horn sighs.

A numb brain.

I hate the blackened sky.

The man in the moon laughs

The stars twinkle with delight.

I lie in my bed

Bemoaning the night.
