awake tonight

somewhere someone is awake

and maybe theyre thinking of someone who loved them once

or 

maybe theyre wondering what they will do with the rest of their life

and whether or not they will find a cure for the darkness that ails them.

i often lay awake at night and wonder about these things too,

but there has never been an answer that comes to me with the ticking clock and approach of dawn.
