Awakening

I just reached eight

i had two cakes baked

so many presents and gifts

everything a little girl could wish

im thirteen now

My neighbors are so loud

we had to move because money got low

now I share rooms with my little bro

Luckily i still got to pick out a cake

didnt come out right because there weren’t enough ingredients to bake

Oh wow

it’s my birthday already?

im 18 now I guess

all I want to do is rest

worked 50 hours this week

had to drop out of school

no time to be a geek

i have bills to pay

its like they’re coming everyday

got so hard that I felt like I had to pray

dear God,

give me strength

dont know what to do anymore

so I come to you to vent

life got hard

now I have to play my part

parents worked so hard to reach rock bottom

want to be successful for them

so one day I can tell them “I bought em”

that new car in the drive way

ya I did that

that beautiful house on the hill

yup I picked that

but that day hasent came yet

Still don’t have my debts met

I guess you can say the glow up was real

maybe next I can tell you how I really feel
