Away from the Heart

With him being away from my eye-
I spend hours thinking what to say!

But he’s contented with watching me;
guarding me -like a child at play!

He let me play with fire all the way;
until I burnt my wings like a butterfly!
They crackled in the fire,
but there was no one to hear my cry.

That was the end of it-
as I gazed unto the drapery
And into the glaze that led me astray!
My fingers felt its beads.

Surprise! They too were in a medley-
only they never asked why.
How lucky they must be!

Missing you is a fire-that won’t die,
no matter how hard I try!
For that, I am once again a prey-
who’s lost to you in this fray.

Please tell me-
how can this be OK;
when you’re an eternal mirage-
who just wont let me be.

You have no plan to stay-
just as I have no plan to fly away!

So lets not fool our selves into asking why;
Cause we both know -away from the eye,
is never away from the heart!

Poetry is a form of passionate expression kindled by an impression unbound by public conviction. I write mainly from two genres : impressionism and symbolism. Choose me or leave me, I'm not a backup plan and definitely not a second choice! Not everyone likes me but then again not everyone matters. What matters is peace and the feeling of being content. Every person is a book, this is just the place to share some pages from my book. Peace!
