Away From Home
the nights spent awake
mirror nights spent away
from those you love
and those you hate
bother to stay in your way
yet nothing changes your face
you smile more than before
more than those enemies can bare
holding on to something
im not sure that you're aware
that the things you say and do
describe the person in you
and what i see
is a beautiful being
someone who holds no grudge
who will never budge
when you get knocked down
still never see you frown
theres a light inside
bright and white as the sun
your warmth fills the airwaves
across oceans from you to me
an energy that bounces,
your smile announces my own
so glad its you i have met
a memory i wont soon forget
on your return,
may your thoughts become full
and smile again,
and visit friends
and embrace those you love
and maybe in that time
you could think of me
and know that i will be around
when the sun goes down
