Is Awesome A Lie?

Everything is awesome

How about everything is unique

Every girl tries her best

But everything that is heard is bleak

Too bad the world doesn’t practice what it preaches

If it did we would all be floating on clouds

Too bad those clouds are only seen across beaches

Every girl needs to be confident

Every girl needs to be brave

Whos’ speaking - a communist

Don’t tell girls what to be

Encourage girls to stand strong

Encourage girls to see

See through the eyes of belief

Hate and discouragement is not going to vanish

Stand strong through the grief

Because even though we are told everything is awesome

Frankly, the world lies

But we just need to blossom

Grow above the four hundred thousand

Become your own form of unique

Just don’t spew like a fountain

Girls are told to stay silent

Be silent, but speak your mind

What is this nasty climate

No one knows

But just remember

Your unique color glows

And, everything is awesome
