Awesomeness

You're beautiful.

By: Eilene Bautista

Written to make you smile.

Go look in the mirror.

"I don't like what I see."

A sentence I used when I wasn't a teen.

Look at me. Look at this girl on the magazine.

"I want that to be me" "why?"

"Because she's not me."

Go look outside.

"It's just a tree."

What clouds? I'm stuck looking at the ground.

The sky, nothing new.

But I knew,

It was just like me.

It was blue.

Go look in the mirror.

"I love what I see."

I realized I'm only 16.

And still counting.

Go up that mountain.

"Look at that tree."

I saw it clearer when I was three.

But what I still see, is myself.

I was always just another book on the shelf.

Learn to love yourself. Find a new angle.

Go look outside.

"Oh those clouds?" Is that a clown.

I no longer frowned.

The sky? What a beautiful view.

Combinations of colors that I never knew.

I notice know that it's not only blue.

Dark blue, pink, orange, purple, light blue.

It's beautiful.

And it's just like me.

Just like me?

Just like you.

It's beautiful.
