Baby Mine
Baby Mine, why didn't you cry
When you felt them carry you away from me?
Why didn't you stay beside me
And hold me hard to this cruel world?
Where are you now and
Does our Lord hold you close,
And cherish you as I did?
Whose have you become,
Now that you are not mine?
Where did I lose you,
In the dead of night?
And why couldn't I say goodbye to my heart
Before you carried it away?
I held hard to those last moments.
But without a heart,
How can one exist for long?
Oh, Baby Mine,
Why didn't you cry?
