Baby steps... or leaps?

She finally loves herself. The same girl that would miss days of school because she couldn't stop crying all for the fact that she couldn't find anything to wear, when months before she was so happy to show off her new clothes.. the girl that would hide behind her glasses and force a laugh. You broke through her thick glass, you got to her. She no longer looks in the mirror and lists her flaws, but she uses those same fingers to point out things that she likes about herself. This is the same girl that fought to get out of bed every day for almost two years, she is now waking up with a smile. She wakes up excited about her day, and it's all because of you, the boy that loves her. She used to hide her smile and avoid laughing but you make her genuinely grin ear to ear and she doesn't think twice about it. Because of you she throws her head back and laughs so loud that the people in the next room hear her, a smile plays on their lips at the sound of such joy. Because of you, she isn't so hard on herself. All it took was being so loved that she started to feel it herself. All it took was you and she started eating again. She no longer has to question whether more people would like her if she were thinner because she is happy with being loved by you. She doesn't feel the need to sneak to the bathroom to find those pieces of metal to run across her skin just to feel something. She no longer feels empty because you have filled her with so much love. You have chose her, even on bad days when she tells you that you deserve better. You don't mind that she can't always finish her food, but you tell her it's cute. You cheer her on and are proud when she eats more than usual because you know it isn't easy for her. You told her that she doesn't have to worry about finishing her food all the time because you'll eat it for her as long as it's good. You choose to spoil her and support her in absolutely everything that she does. You love that she sings and you told her that her writing and way of expressing herself is attractive and you have been the first boy to ever appreciate her down to her core. You love when her hair isn't fixed and you convinced her that she looks better when she doesn't try. You always tell her that she is beautiful, regardless of what she has on or how tired she looks. You treat her like the finest piece of art, and she fell in love with you as you accepted every little piece. Every piece of that broken glass you picked up on your way to her heart.. every broken piece, you fixed me.
