Baby's Breath

Taking up beauty in the most natural form,

The beauty of new life.

Knowing that another one of God's gifts has been given;

Another being of dust created

With soul,

Mind,

Being.

Taking all the love of the mother and father;

Watching so closely to make sure you're still there

To see the signs of life

They stick close by.

It's such a worry in their hearts that their child won't wake up;

That something so precious gifted to them could be stripped away.

They pray it won't be so;

God tells them it is not the plan.

Still in defiance, the parents watch

Losing countless nights searching, hoping their baby is alive.

Sometimes the defiance can go too far, and there will be harsh punishment.

Sometimes Lucifer brings in his nasty hand to take that most dear,

And then you're gone.

While the baby sleeps you slip away to the Savior;

Before the parents can do anything to bring you back

To save their child

The baby is already with the Lord.

You are gone.
