Back

I wish I could go back,
to the way things were before.
Back when we found peace,
amidst all this war.
I know I'm wretched,
and I was consumed by fear.
I don't want this doubt,
because all I want is to leave this slate clear.

Back to the days when everything was black and white,
And we were just kids afraid of the night,
Consciences used to hold us in our place,
Kingdoms we built have now all fallen from grace.
Why can't we just go back?

I wish that you were still here,
to be my constant among the change.
I hope you know you were my sun,
even when all I saw was rain.
I know I don't deserve you,
but I want to relive our past.
Things keep on going forward,
and I may never get to go back.
